Fighting Kye's Fight!

Kye's Climate Action Fund (KCAF) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in honor of Kye Moffat, a passionate geologist, climate activist, brother, son, and friend. During Kye's 25 years, he had a superpower for uplifting others and inspiring them to take action. He often remarked that “humanity spends too much time talking and too little time making change.” Kye's Climate Action Fund (KCAF) honors Kye's legacy by emphasizing that solving the climate crisis requires intensive collaboration and a diverse set of perspectives.

Above Lake Tahoe

KCAF supports talented and courageous young people in their work to fight the climate crisis.

Inspired by Kye's legacy, we believe that solving the climate crisis will require the proper level of investment coupled with intelligent problem solving and a positive outlook on the future we can build. Every young person who believes in this vision and cares to dedicate their time and energy to building this future should be encouraged to do so. Through a combination of grant funding and professional mentorship, we seek to remove barriers to entry in the climate field and to help young changemakers expand their impact across the climate science, policy, advocacy, and technology fields– while building a joyful and inclusive community along the way.
