Everyone should be able to use this site. If something gets in your way, tell us and we will fix it or find another route.

Kye's Climate Action Fund is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, captions, or other assistive technology. Kye believed climate work belongs to everybody, and a website that shuts people out is not consistent with that.

The standard we aim for

We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines are the widely accepted international standard for making web content accessible.

We describe this as partial conformance. We are a small volunteer-run organization, we have not commissioned a formal third-party audit, and we would rather tell you honestly where we are than claim a level of compliance we have not verified.

What we do

  • Write descriptive alt text for images, and check for it automatically before any change goes live
  • Use real headings and semantic HTML so screen readers can navigate the page structure
  • Keep text and background colors at readable contrast
  • Make the site work at a range of screen sizes and zoom levels, including on phones
  • Keep the site simple — no autoplaying media, no pop-ups, no flashing content, no time limits
  • Run automated checks on every change to catch markup problems before publication

Known limitations

We are aware of these issues and are working on them:

  • Donation form. Our donation page embeds a form from Zeffy, a third-party platform. We do not control its accessibility. If you have trouble with it, contact us and we will take your donation another way.
  • Photography. Some older photographs on the site may have alt text that is less descriptive than we would like. We are improving these as we go.
  • No formal audit. We have not had the site reviewed by an independent accessibility auditor or tested comprehensively with every assistive technology.

If something does not work for you

Please tell us. Email info@kyesclimateactionfund.com with the page address and what went wrong, and we will respond within five business days.

If you cannot access something you need — grant information, event details, a way to give — say so and we will get it to you directly in whatever format works, by email, phone, or post. You should never have to fight our website to take part in this work.

Third-party content

This website links to and embeds content from other organizations, including our donation platform and the websites of partner organizations and grantees. We do not control the accessibility of content we do not publish. If a third-party resource we point you to is not accessible, let us know and we will help you get the information another way.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a box we check once. We review this statement when we make significant changes to the site, and we welcome being told when we have fallen short.
